Part I
The Repression

Nunca Más (Never Again) - Report of Conadep  - 1984

Testimony of Nilda Noemí Actis Goretta - File N° 6321

This testimony is important because it corroborates what is implied in preceding references. She is referring to a disappeared-freed person from whose declarations we extract the following paragraphs:

The members of the task forces drove cars that could not be identified according to the force to which they belonged; some were made to look as if they belonged to the state or to private organizations. These cars had been stolen and their reizistration plates changed; the loot was taken in some cases to the Navy Mechanics School and deposited in what was known as the 'storeroom', though gradually this store of furniture was used up by the same group members. By February 1979 an estate agency had been set up to rebuild for sale houses which had been partially destroyed in the attempt to kidnap their inhabitants. The procedure involved forcing the detainee to sign a power of attorney authorizing the sale of his house. in some cases the power of attorney was forged.
