The Repression
Nunca Más
(Never Again) - Report of Conadep

Living conditions in the
Detention
Centres
’Disappearance’
began with admission to these centres and the suppression of all
links with the outside world, hence the name of
pozos (’pits’) used to designate many of the centres in
the jargon adopted by the repressive forces. It was not just a
case of deprivation of freedom which was not officially
acknowledged, but a sinister form of captivity, which pushed
daily existence to the limits of cruelty and madness.
