Batán Police post

Location:

On Route 88, 20 kilometres from Mar del Plata. Acts as police post for the village of Batán.

Description:

Single-storey building with several rooms-, brick walls and tiled roof. One of the rooms was used as a communal cell and had four fluorescent lamps in two light fittings on the ceiling, A separate room was used as a torture room. This was situated at the end of the corridor which linked two rooms on either side of the bathroom. Difference in floor levels. There was a bathroom with lavatory and wash-basin; a window in the upper part of the wall facing the entrance. Railway tracks ran close by, stone quarries next to them.
