Part I
The Repression

Nunca Más (Never Again) - Report of Conadep  - 1984

Intelligence Department No. 2 (Mendoza Police) (PAC)

Calle Belgrano and Calle Virgen del Carmen de Cuyo, Mendoza city.

Access from the Calle Virgen del Carmen de Cuyo into a parking area. This led into the reception area or detention room, in which there was a desk where prisoners were identified. On one side of this room was a staircase leading to a mezzanine floor (D-2), where a door opened into the centre of the long side of a rectangle containing a narrow central corridor with a row of cells on either side. At the end were showers and a lavatory. From D-2 two flights of stairs went down to the telephone switchboard in the first basement, beside which was the torture room. From the entrance in Calle Belgrano, a lift went down to the second basement, in which there was the incinerator and next to it another torture room.
