It was a torture and 'softening up' place, Tortures were conducted on the first floor, i.e. below the home of the Provincial Police Chief, which was located on the upper floor. Generally speaking, it was here that the kidnap victims who had recently arrived were received. Not only those from the town, but also from other parts of the province.

That same night we were taken from Reconquista to Santa Fe by men belonging to the Santa Fe Federal Police. We were transported in an Air Force bus, together with another eleven prisoners. We were quartered at the junction of Obispo Gelabert and San Martín, where they put blindfolds and handcuffs on us. (File No. 7518.).
