Domingo Matheu Light Arms Factory
On 13 September 1984 members of the National Commission and the Rosario Delegation met at the Domingo Matheu Military Factory.
They proceeded to make a tour of the factory, going by descriptions given by four witnesses who took part in the inspection, asking for their names to be withheld. These witnesses clearly identified the part of the Military Factory building reserved for prison accommodation: the part which opens on to Calle Sin Nombre, better known as Paredón Sur. There the vehicles carrying prisoners entered by a gate built in 1976 and the prisoners were temporarily housed in a kitchen which was also immediately recognized by the witnesses. From this kitchen the witnesses could locate the torture room next door. The prisoners were kept temporarily handcuffed and blindfolded in the kitchen until their turn came to go into the torture room, Further on there is an old stable where the prisoners were housed, herded together in extremely unhygienic conditions, all suffering the results of their torture and without any medical treatment.
The prisoners kept illegally in the conditions described above in the old stable were visited periodically by military personnel.
