Secret detention centres in Córdoba province

In Córdoba province the main centres of illegal activity were: La' Ribera, La Peria, La Perla Chica, the Water Authority, and the Information Division of the Provincial Police. The Unquillo Police Station, Salsipuedes sub-police Station, and the Pilar Highways Police Post worked in connection with these centres.

They made up a whole system, completed by Córdoba Prison Unit No. 1, whose function was to provide bestial conditions for officially recognized prisoners who, after passing through the camps, were sent before military tribunals or put at the disposition of the National Executive.

Guard responsibility for the camps under military control and Prison Unit No. 1 lay with the Gendarmería as represented by the 3rd Mobile Detachment, based in the town of Jesús María.
