Part I
The Repression

Nunca Más (Never Again) - Report of Conadep  - 1984

Secret detention centres in Mendoza province

Los Andes Camp

After being kidnapped, blindfolded and having my hands tied, I was taken to the Los Andes camp, Five of us were held prisoner there. I stayed there from the end of September to 28 December 1976. When my family found out that I was at this military base they came and were told that 'an experiment was being carried out' on the prisoners and that we would soon be released. During Our stay we were psychologically tortured with death threats. We were told that we might be shot at any moment. We were taken to the toilet twice a day. There was half an hour's recreation a week. As a result of the tension produced by these constant threats one of the prisoners suffered partial amnesia, with fainting fits every day for nearly a week and insomnia for another. Then they took us to the prison, (Oscar Armando Bustamante, file No. 6831.).
