On 1 April 1978 I was arrested in Buenos Aires province while walking with my fifteen-year-old son. About fifteen heavily armed men handcuffed and took us to our house, some 150 metres away, in full view of all our neighbours. Our house, where my four other children were at the time, had already been searched by another fifteen men, who had also entered four neighbouring houses. My house was looted. I was put into a van, hooded, and after an hour's drive was taken out at Pozo de Quilmes where I was tortured with an electric prod. There were twenty-two Uruguayans being held there. The interrogators were all Uruguayans, OCOA officers; their interrogations related to activities in Uruguay. The guards themselves told us that Uruguayan prisoners were the responsibility of Uruguayan military personnel.
